Art History Research Paper
This is a research paper I wrote on Kandinsky and abstract art for my History & Criticisms of Art II course I took during the fall of my freshman year of college.
This piece resembles some of the more traditional papers I've written in the past and the pattern is similar to that of an average "english paper".
I chose this paper to be a part of my ePortfolio because while it is informative, it is also reflective in nature. I was allowed to choose and write about an artist whose work I admired as well as talk about my perception of one of his works.
Because art is so subjective, different, and personal for each individual, there is not an exact right or wrong interpretation. Does the artist define the work, or does that viewer? Who defines the meaning? All these queestions also arise in writing.
There is an intended audience and there can also be unintended secondary audiences who later become a part of a work.
A lot of the same themes in writing arise in art because they are both creations, just in different forms.
