About the Course
This course was a freshman composition course that dealt with "Writing About Everyday Writing" or "Writing for Transfer".
The purpose of this course was to help students learn to see writing in a different light and understand that writing is applied to many (if not all) fields. In a way, this course was teaching students to "transfer" what they have learned in english class and apply it to the outside world.
Writing does not merely have to remain within the parameters of english, speech, or language arts classes. In fact, writing and major wiring elements exist in various parts of life.
This course taught students how to connect with their audience (and be aware that there IS an audience for all works) and utilize a variety of different media and technologies when working with untraditional text.
The largest component of this course was developing a working theory of writing.
